Pink Soccer Uniforms

July 9th, 2009

With more and more girls playing soccer these days, there are more and more soccer uniform soccer uniforms with pink coming out. Black with pink trim, pink with white trim, Navy with pink trim; these are all variants that have been seen. Evidently not all girls want to wear pink, as it sets a stereotype, however to begin with, since male Gordon International soccer teams generally did not have any pink in their colors, it does make them stand out. Add a pink soccer ball, pink cleats and pink socks, and it’s almost guaranteed it has to be a girl’s only team. For now, they still look unique amongst the blacks, reds, whites, greens and blues of the traditional soccer colors. Some say pink is the new black in soccer, adding a feminist touch in a sport that used to be only for men. Additionally, there is now one more reason to add pink to the soccer uniform soccer uniform: the pink ribbon cause. Some soccer teams are adopting the cause as the reason why their team is pink and it seems like that would make a great reason to make a team wear pink. However, the paler the color used, the faster it will get dirty from muddy playing fields.
